Insight Global is looking for a Data Scientist to join a large AAA gaming company remotely in Canada for a 6-month contract to hire opportunity. As a part of the Data and Analytics team, you will be supporting some of the largest game titles on a cutting-edge project to find mathematically vigorous new ways of getting games in hands. This team is fast-paced, and passion driven, and requires a Data Scientist that is flexible to drive value, work in an agile environment, and who wants to make immediate impact. The focus of this team is mobile growth analytics, specifically supporting financial data analysis of spend for marketing on live mobile titles. You will be working on all facets of Data Science in a live service product marketing environment. Ares of focus include MMM (Marketing Mix Modelling), LTV (life time value), DAU (daily active users), churn prediction and incrementality. Further, you will be expected to work beyond your scope and be involved in making and tweaking dashboards alongside the customer, basic SQL and excel, and some data engineering capacities alongside the data engineers. These additional capabilities outside the standard are what enables this team to drive impact. Customization of models will be common, and there is a lot of opportunity to improve capabilities. This is a cross-functional role and will involve interacting with other teams and skillsets daily.

3+ years relevant professional experience, or a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field
Experience with modelling KPIs in a way that drives values for marketing, market trends, sales, or other business-related outcomes. Able to explain how the model was changed from base package, how results were actioned, and how business impact was made. Examples of modelling experience could include MMM (Marketing Mix Modelling), and/or a timeseries forecasting model such as: ARIMA, Prophet, Robyn and/or Nevergrad
Deep understanding of Bayesian testing statistics for incrementality, preferably able to speak to PyMC
Well versed in Python
Well versed in SQL
Superior verbal, visual, and written communication skills to educate and work with cross-functional teams
Experience working with a product that is a live service, preferably a software service
Mixed or Fixed effects experience
Experience working in the marketing field
light weight MMM experience
Computer Science degree
Engineering background
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, and Pig
Knowledgeable about data warehouse and non-relational data techniques to work with engineering partners
GCP or other cloud experience
Passion or experience in gaming
