Job Description

The Industrial Engineer – CORE is responsible for driving operational excellence by analyzing, improving, and standardizing processes across the facility. This role supports the CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) framework through data-driven problem solving, waste reduction, capacity analysis, and the implementation of sustainable improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. This position reports to the Operations Department.

· Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste, reduce process variation, and maximize operational efficiency.

· Support the CORE Lead and the PSD team in implementing CORE methodologies, tools, and standards across the facility.

· Partner with leadership to develop, launch, and sustain CORE initiatives that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational reliability.

· Conduct time studies, bottleneck analyses, and capacity modeling to provide data-driven insights for CORE decision-making and project prioritization.

· Assist in building standardized work instructions, visual management systems, and process documentation to support CORE team objectives.

· Facilitate CORE-driven problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis, kaizen events, and daily/weekly performance reviews.

· Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities for the PSD team, as assigned.

· Support the design and implementation of new workflows, layouts, and process improvements aligned with CORE principles.

· Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and safety to ensure CORE projects are integrated effectively into daily plant operations.

· Track project progress, report status updates to the Business Unit Manager, and support the development of CORE scorecards and dashboards.

· Provide training, coaching, and guidance to operators and team members on CORE processes, tools, and expectations.

· Help drive cultural adoption of CORE principles throughout PSD by supporting engagement, communication, and accountability across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business.

· Ability to organize detailed information into a clear understanding of the broader organizational impact.

· Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, operators, and leadership at all levels.

· Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.

· Proficiency with general computer software and administrative tools.

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Green Belt or Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.

· Experience in data mining and data manipulation using Excel, VBA, SQL, or other analytical tools.

· Proficiency in drafting and workflow mapping software, specifically Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD.

· Demonstrated experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.

· Understanding of the capital acquisition process or a similar professional background.

· Strong analytical ability, creative problem-solving skills, and project management experience.

· Strong time management skills; able to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.

· Working knowledge of product manufacturing and process technologies.

· Self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction.

· Strong computer skills across a variety of software platforms.
