Job Description

We are seeking a Java Developer to support the Backroom Automation initiative by designing, building, and enhancing backend services, integrations, and platform capabilities that enable scalable automation, performance testing, and system modernization.
This role focuses on application and platform development, working in close partnership with an existing Quality Engineering (QE) team that owns test strategy, automation, and metrics. The Java Developer will ensure systems are testable, observable, performant, and automation-ready, but will not be responsible for creating or maintaining test frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Java Developer.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Solid understanding of application performance, scalability, and reliability principles.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working in environments with heavy automation and E2E testing (as a development partner).
• Familiarity with distributed systems and large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to performance testing outcomes (JMeter, Gatling) from a developer tuning perspective.
Experience supporting system migrations or decommissioning efforts.
