Job Description

The Director of IT Applications leads the strategy, development, implementation, and support of enterprise software systems that enable critical business functions such as reliability coordination, market operations, engineering, and settlements. This role also oversees Identity and Access Management, Test Coordination, Business Analysis, and 24/7 real-time system support. The Director sets departmental goals aligned with broader organizational strategy, ensures cost-effective deployment of technology, and collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to meet evolving business needs. The position requires strong engagement across all levels of the organization and with external partners. The Director is expected to independently manage performance, coach direct reports, and represent the organization in relevant industry committees and working groups.

Required Skills & Experience

-10 years’ experience in managing the development and support of IT software systems
-Specific knowledge of power system engineering applications software, the software development
lifecycle, and data base management systems
-Judgment necessary to set individual and staff priorities in instances of insufficient resources as well as
demonstrate flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities
-Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, management and senior management, including
officers of other companies for purposes of requests, analysis, coordination, guidance and
presentations
-Demonstrate flexibility and successfully function with constantly changing and multiple priorities
-Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)
-Proficient in Jira for project and issue tracking

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Variety of experience in Information Technology projects
-Extensive experience working with large enterprise clients in managed services roles
-Strong background in both on-premises and cloud platforms
