Art Director, Product Development

Our client is seeking a highly creative Art Director/Product Development Designer to join their growing team in Phoenix, AZ. This individual will take product ideas and transform them into compelling visual concepts, renderings, and finished designs that help bring products to life before production.
The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys developing concepts from scratch, and can create mood boards, graphics, product visualizations, and 3D renderings that communicate a complete vision. This role is heavily focused on ideation and concept development rather than production design or client-facing responsibilities.
The team supports a range of retail and consumer products with a strong focus on luxury, beauty, jewelry, and premium consumer experiences.

Day to Day Responsibilities
• Develop creative concepts for new product, retail, and packaging initiatives.
• Translate loose ideas into fully realized visual concepts and product experiences.
• Create mood boards, concept presentations, and visual storytelling assets.
• Design graphics and artwork for boxes, pouches, kits, and retail packaging concepts.
• Build 3D renderings and product mockups to support internal product development efforts.
• Create realistic visualizations showing products within retail displays, boxes, and kits.
• Collaborate with engineers and internal stakeholders to bring concepts to life.
• Research luxury, beauty, retail, and consumer product trends for inspiration.
• Iterate on concepts based on feedback while maintaining creative ownership and vision.
• Export high-quality renderings and transparent PNG assets for presentations and development teams.

• 5+ years of experience in Art Direction, Product Design, Industrial Design, Creative Design, or a related discipline.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development from idea through execution.
• Experience creating product mockups, visual concepts, and 3D renderings.
• Ability to take broad direction and independently develop creative solutions.
• Strong graphic design and visual storytelling skills.
• Experience creating mood boards and presenting conceptual work.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
• Ability to think creatively without a highly defined process or roadmap.
• Experience using 3D rendering/modeling tools such as Blender, Rhino, Cinema 4D, SolidWorks, Strata
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to export transparent PNG files and presentation-ready renderings.

• Beauty, cosmetics, luxury, jewelry, fashion, retail, or consumer products experience.
• Packaging design experience.
• Industrial design or product development background.
• Experience creating retail displays, promotional kits, or merchandising concepts.
• Understanding of consumer trends and product innovation processes.
