Job Description

Position Summary

The Training Content Specialist is responsible for developing, organizing, maintaining, and continuously improving training content that enables workforce readiness across the program. This role partners closely with Training Operations Leads, Technical Trainers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Manufacturing leaders, Safety leaders, and operational stakeholders to create high-quality learning materials that support onboarding, job qualification, technical skills development, operational procedures, and compliance requirements.

The Training Content Specialist serves as the primary owner of training curriculum content lifecycle management, ensuring training materials remain accurate, standardized, scalable, and aligned with operational requirements as facility grows.

Key Responsibilities

Training Content Development

Develop and maintain instructor-led training materials, participant guides, presentations, job aids, and performance support tools.

Convert operational procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation into learner-friendly training content.

Create content supporting manufacturing, logistics, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, facilities, and safety functions.

Build structured learning pathways that support employee development and qualification requirements.

Curriculum Management

Maintain training curriculum libraries and content repositories.

Ensure version control and document governance standards are consistently applied.

Track curriculum updates resulting from process changes, equipment changes, policy updates, or operational improvements.

Manage content review cycles and stakeholder approvals.

SME Collaboration

Partner with Subject Matter Experts to capture operational knowledge and translate it into effective learning experiences.

Facilitate content review workshops and working sessions.

Gather operational feedback to improve training effectiveness.

Ensure training materials accurately reflect current-state operations and business requirements.

Learning Content Design

Apply adult learning principles to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.

Develop content using a variety of instructional methods, including classroom, digital, blended, and performance-based learning approaches.

Create assessments, knowledge checks, exercises, and qualification materials.

Support development of competency-based learning programs.

Learning Systems Support

Prepare training content for deployment within the Learning Management System (LMS).

Support content organization, metadata management, and curriculum structure within training platforms.

Coordinate with LMS and Digital Systems resources to maintain training accessibility and reporting integrity.

Workforce Readiness Support

Support development of New Employee Orientation content and role-specific onboarding materials.

Develop training content aligned to operational startup, workforce ramp, and production-readiness activities.

Assist Training Operations Leads and Trainers in preparing instructional materials for workforce delivery.

Support qualification and certification programs as required.

Continuous Improvement

Analyze learner feedback and training effectiveness data.

Recommend improvements to content quality, delivery effectiveness, and learner experience.

Standardize training development methodologies across workstreams.

Support expansion and scaling of training programs as workforce volumes increase.

Governance & Documentation

Maintain and support:

Curriculum documentation

Training content libraries

Standard operating procedure training materials

Work instruction training materials

Assessment and qualification content

Training content version control records

Content review and approval documentation

Learning standards and style guides

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience developing training content, curriculum, instructional materials, or learning programs.

Experience working with technical, operational, manufacturing, industrial, or business process documentation.

Strong written communication and content development skills.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, learner-focused content.

Experience partnering with SMEs and operational stakeholders.

Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, data center, logistics, engineering, or technical operations environments.

Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Experience developing onboarding and workforce readiness programs.

Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.

Familiarity with e-learning development tools.

Experience supporting large-scale workforce mobilization or startup operations.
