Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure for a large semiconductor IDM. This role ensures reliable power delivery to critical manufacturing systems by working with switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and generators, and by monitoring performance through SCADA, BMS, and EMS platforms. The engineer will troubleshoot electrical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime in a high‑availability environment. They will also support electrical system upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards and collaborating closely with operations and maintenance teams.
Additional Responsibilities
Electrical system upgrades — Plan, scope, and execute infrastructure improvements and capital projects
Safety compliance — Maintain adherence to NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and site‑specific safety protocols
Power‑quality support — Ensure stable, clean power for semiconductor tools with strict electrical tolerances
Predictive maintenance — Implement data‑driven maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime
System performance monitoring — Track and analyze electrical system behavior using SCADA/BMS/EMS platforms
Cross‑functional collaboration — Partner with operations, facilities, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and optimize performance
Emergency response — Participate in on‑call rotations and support rapid response during power events or equipment failures

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
3–8+ years of experience in industrial or semiconductor facilities
Experience with power distribution systems (switchgear, transformers, substations)
Hands-on experience with UPS systems and generators
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and OSHA codes
Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on electrical systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Semiconductor fab or cleanroom experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience in mission-critical or high-uptime environments
Familiarity with SCADA, BMS, or EMS systems
Experience with energy management systems
