Job Description

Position Summary

The Training and Development Manager is the accountable owner of workforce readiness and capability development across an entire manufacturing operation including Fabrication, Assembly, Logistics, and Facilities. This role leads a scalable, end-to-end training organization that supports new employee onboarding, role-based technical training, on-the-job coaching (OJT), safety certification, curriculum development, and continuous upskilling. The position is directly tied to production performance and quality outcomes, with a mission to reduce time-to-productivity and drive the retention outcomes identified as mission-critical supporting manufacturing operations in a greenfield environment.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Program Design — Develop and execute role-based training pathways aligned to operational requirements, SOPs, and production ramp timeline across Fabrication, Assembly, Logistics, and Onboarding functions.

Curriculum Development & Standardization — Lead centralized Instructional Design & Curriculum Development; create, maintain, and continuously improve training materials and certification standards using validated SOPs and workflows.

Training Delivery & Certification — Execute instructor-led training, hands-on instruction, and OJT validation across all roles; manage Technical Trainers and OJT Coaches responsible for skill development and certification.

Safety Training Program — Own the comprehensive, role-aligned safety training program across three tiers: Baseline General Safety (OSHA 10, Hazard Communication, PPE, Emergency Readiness), Functional Safety (Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, NFPA 70E), and Role-Specific Certifications (Hot Work, LOTO, Crane/Rigging, Forklift, etc.). Ensure 100% training completion prior to deployment.

Workforce Readiness & Onboarding — Co-develop and deliver structured onboarding-for-success model that embeds end client and Insight Global’s values, SOPs, and performance expectations from day one; accelerate time-to-productivity for all new hires across the 1,050-person workforce ramp.

Learning Management System (LMS) — Support LMS deployment and administration; manage digital learning platforms, assessments, and performance tracking; leverage platforms such as ToolingU (600+ manufacturing courses) and TPC for customized industrial skills training.

Training Governance & Performance Tracking — Own training KPIs including Training Material Readiness/Completion, onboarding completion rates, certification readiness, and training effectiveness metrics; report into governance cadences across all four delivery phases.

Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Retention — Refine training programs based on operational feedback, quality outcomes, and performance metrics; baseline training effectiveness by role/shift; optimize via retraining and upskilling programs.

Modular Expansion — Scale the training organization to support optional bolt-on extensions including Warehousing Training, Facility Training, and Equipment Maintenance Training, each with dedicated training leadership, function-specific curriculum, and independent KPIs.
