Job Description

A busy specialty care practice is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support the triage function within a high-volume clinical environment. This role is responsible for handling urgent patient calls, coordinating communication with providers, and ensuring timely follow-up on clinical inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume inbound calls (approximately 60–80/day), including urgent patient concerns
- Perform triage responsibilities by gathering detailed patient information and accurately documenting messages for providers
- Handle pharmacy-related calls, including refill requests and clarifications
- Communicate with primary care and urgent care offices regarding patient needs and coordination of care
- Escalate urgent or time-sensitive matters appropriately to clinical staff/providers
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the EMR system (eClinicalWorks)
- Provide professional, calm, and patient-centered communication in all interactions

Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM in Chandler, AZ

Required Skills & Experience

- Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
- Prior triage experience in a medical office or clinical setting strongly preferred (Primary care, urgent care, neurology, oncology)
- 2+ years as a Medical Assistant (someone eager to grow and do well in their next role)
- Ability to manage high call volumes with urgency and accuracy
- Strong clinical judgment and understanding of patient care workflows
- - Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask effectively
Familiarity with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred)

- Experience working in Neurology
