Insight Global is seeking a Mainframe Console Operations SME (3rd Shift) for a leading financial services client. This role is responsible for supporting mission-critical mainframe environments, ensuring system stability, and minimizing service disruptions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in mainframe operations, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead incident resolution in high-pressure situations. This individual will collaborate across infrastructure and application teams to maintain operational excellence while contributing to modernization and automation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.

Day-to-Day:
• Monitor and manage mainframe console operations in a 24x7 production environment
• Lead incident resolution and escalation for infrastructure and application failures
• Execute and oversee batch processing and online system operations
• Diagnose and resolve mainframe performance and stability issues
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure deployments and changes
• Ensure minimal disruption to service delivery and SLAs
• Support system IPLs, recovery processes, and operational procedures
• Maintain and utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify issues
• Train and mentor team members on mainframe operations and best practices
• Participate in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and automation
• Communicate effectively with technical teams, management, and vendors

Must-Haves:
• 5+ years of console operations experience in a large-scale, multi-platform data center
• Expert knowledge of mainframe environments (z/OS) and infrastructure operations
• Hands-on experience with JES2/JES3, MVS commands, and console operations
• Strong experience supporting CICS environments
• Knowledge of mainframe monitoring tools (MainView, Omegamon, Tivoli, SA/zOS, OPS/MVS, NetView, etc.)
• Experience with IPL and POR procedures
• Working knowledge of VTAM/SNA
• Experience with ticketing systems (BMC Remedy)
• Strong understanding of incident management, escalation, and service recovery
• Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, critical production environments
• Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead problem resolution

Plusses:
• ITIL certification or strong ITSM process knowledge
• Experience in a financial services environment
• Experience with automation or modernization initiatives
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
