Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Insight Global's government drone manufacturing client is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a time-sensitive CMMC 2.0 certification initiative. This role will focus on securing and managing a small, distributed Windows environment, while helping implement compliant infrastructure, endpoint protection, and network security practices. The position also includes standing up a Microsoft Government Cloud enclave, migrating data from Google Workspace, and documenting policies and procedures required for audit readiness. This is a hands-on, project-driven role supporting infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance efforts.

Responsibilities:
- Support CMMC 2.0 audit readiness, including technical and documentation efforts
- Administer and secure a Windows-based environment (~30 endpoints)
- Deploy and manage endpoint security agents across all systems
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and LANs
- Implement and enforce access controls, user profiles, and data security policies
- Lead/assist with Microsoft Government Cloud setup, including domain services and email migration
- Migrate data from Google Workspace into a compliant cloud environment
- Develop and maintain SOPs, policies, and audit-related documentation
Collaborate with third-party vendors and tools to track compliance progress and tasks

Required Skills & Experience

MUST HAVES:
- 5+ years of Systems Administration experience
- Networking experience, within the Cisco product suite (Meraki)
○ Firewall management, rules, ACLS, and policies
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP
- Experience with Windows administration in a small to mid-sized environment
- Hands-on experience with endpoint security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike or similar)
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including encryption of data at rest
- Experience managing remote users and secure access (VPNs, endpoint agents)
Strong attention to detail with ability to contribute to documentation and SOPs

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

PLUSSES:
- Ability to support audit/compliance efforts (CMMC, NIST, or similar frameworks)
- Experience working in a government-based cloud
- Cisco Certified Security Professional
- Experience with CMMC 2.0 or government compliance frameworks
- Experience migrating from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365
- Experience setting up secure enclaves or government cloud environments
- Technical writing experience (policies, procedures, audit documentation)
Exposure to tools like Radical or similar compliance tracking platforms
