Job Description
This Mechanical Engineering position performs in alignment to expectations in the design, development, and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principles, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presenting data in design reviews.

This position is based in Tucson AZ and does require a minimum interims secret clearance.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Five years of work experience in mechanical design and design documentation.
• Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Active DoD issued security clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline
• Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people)
• Supplier interaction and supplier management experience
• Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative
• Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principals, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
• Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software
• Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software
• Ability to travel to government and supplier facilities in support of program activities
