Job Description

The City of Chandler Police Department is seeking an experienced SharePoint Developer to design and implement a modern, secure intranet using SharePoint Online within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role will own the end‑to‑end transformation of a legacy WordPress intranet into a modern digital workplace that improves internal communication, collaboration, and access to information for PD personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and build a modern SharePoint Online intranet (Modern Experience)
• Create enterprise landing pages and departmental workspace sites
• Establish intuitive navigation, layout, and information architecture
• Migrate and modernize content from a legacy WordPress intranet
• Build digital forms and workflows using Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Lists)
• Integrate SharePoint content with Microsoft Teams and Viva Connections
• Implement role‑based access, governance, and permissions using Microsoft Entra ID
• Ensure ADA awareness and compliance in intranet design
• Create documentation and deliver training for end users and site owners
Collaborate with PD leadership and internal stakeholders while operating as the sole developer

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience with SharePoint Online (Modern Experience)
• Strong experience designing and building SharePoint intranets
• Experience migrating content from legacy platforms (WordPress preferred)
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem
• Power Platform experience (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Lists)
• Knowledge of permissions, governance, and security design
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Strong communication skills to interface with PD leadership

• SharePoint intranet architecture and information design expertise
• Microsoft Teams and Viva Connections integrations
• Workflow automation for business processes
• Training and user adoption enablement
• Experience working in public sector or highly regulated environments
• Awareness of ADA accessibility standards
• Certifications with Sharepoint or M365
