Job Description
We are seeking a Contracts Coordinator to join the Purchasing team at a local children’s hospital, supporting a multi‑location healthcare system. This is a hands‑on, non‑senior role responsible for both transactional purchasing and contract administration for non‑pharmaceutical supplies across the organization.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate pricing, contract alignment, and timely fulfillment of supplies. The Buyer will manage price files, contracts, and vendor relationships, working closely with Prime Distributors (primarily Medline), manufacturers, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and internal stakeholders to keep systems and pricing aligned.

Required Skills & Experience
• 2+ years of contract management, buyer, purchasing, or supply chain experience OR a relevant Bachelor’s degree (preferably healthcare‑focused)
• Healthcare Buyer / Purchasing / Contract background
• Experience with price file management and contract pricing alignment
• Understanding of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), preferably Vizient
• Experience working with Prime Distributors (Medline required; Cardinal, Owens & Minor a plus)
• Experience with GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange)
• Strong Excel skills, including basic formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and add‑ins
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing pricing agreements
• Self‑starter who is accountable, motivated, and eager to learn
Strong communication skills with a positive, collaborative attitude
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with Lawson
• Experience with Workday (strong preference)
• Prior experience working with GPOs in a healthcare setting
CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification a plus
