Job Description

Traffic Control Designer / Project Manager
Location: Mesa, AZ
Pay Rate: $33–$39/hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Immediate Need
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Control Designer / Project Manager to support our Mesa, Arizona operations. This is a specialized role focused on the development of site-specific traffic control plans and the management of traffic control projects from design through field execution. The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with Phoenix-area municipalities, local agency standards, and submittal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and design site-specific Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) in compliance with local, state, and municipal standards
• Maintain an active Traffic Control Designer (TCD) certification
• Utilize Invarion (RapidPlan) for plan development and revisions
• Manage projects from planning through execution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
• Coordinate closely with field operations teams to support proper plan implementation
• Partner with estimators during bid and proposal phases to support accurate project planning
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing design questions and project needs
Ensure all traffic control plans meet agency requirements and are approved in a timely manner

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications
• Active Traffic Control Designer (TCD) certification
• Proven experience developing traffic control plans for roadway, utility, or construction projects
• Strong working knowledge of Phoenix-area municipalities, design standards, and permitting processes
• Proficiency with Invarion (RapidPlan)
• Experience coordinating with field crews, estimators, and clients
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior project management experience within traffic control or roadway construction
• Established relationships or familiarity with local agencies and reviewing authorities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support immediate project needs
