Job Description

A client is seeking a talented Splunk Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will focus on automating the deployment of new Splunk environments on both virtual machines (VMs) and Kubernetes clusters, utilizing CI/CD pipelines through GitHub Actions.

Additional Responsibilities.
Monitor and maintain existing Splunk infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
Implement and manage Splunk Indexers, Forwarders, and Search Heads.
Design and implement observability frameworks using Splunk and other tools like OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Sahara, and OpenSearch.
Ensure comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting across distributed infrastructure stacks.
Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters to support Splunk deployments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes and containerized applications.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Puppet, Shell, Python, etc., to streamline deployment and management tasks.
Continuously improve automation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Implement best practices for performance tuning and optimization of Splunk and related infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years hand on experience with design (Splunk) and implementation of observability frameworks
2+ years of Splunk experience with hands on experience with implementing and administrating Splunk.
Strong experience working with Kubernetes
Automation experience with any of the following: ansible, puppet, shell, python, etc.
Experience in design, implementation of Splunk (Indexers, Forwarders, Search Heads, etc.)
Know what observability tools from different vendors ie. Open Telemetry, Dynatrace, Splunk, Sahara, and OpenSearch
Experience with implementing standard methodologies for monitoring, logging, and alerting across widely distributed infrastructure stacks
Experience with automation and understanding infrastructure concepts (ex: networking, storage, etc.)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Public Cloud Observability offerings
Experience with writing test plan automation
