Job Description

Client is searching for a Senior Accountant to support the accounting team with executing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for reviewing and approving journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and preparing journal entries related to complex subject matter. This person will also represent the accounting department in collaborative projects with the external Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP team. In this high-visibility role, the Senior Accountant will work directly with the Controller and Accounting Manager on continuous improvement initiatives as they automate and streamline processes and will make recommendations for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.



* Review, approve and post journal entries prepared by Staff Accountants.

* Serve as the accounting team's liaison with Oracle on troubleshooting issues, providing solutions where needed.

* Organize and lead continuous improvement projects, collaborating with other departments and team members.

* Assist in the design and implementation of management reporting packages custom-tailored to meet the needs of various users.

* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for significant and complicated accounting issues (e.g., income tax provisions, business valuations, share-based compensation, equity).

* Perform trend analyses, highlighting risks and opportunities.

* Prepare and review supporting schedules for the external audit team.

* Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

* 2-5 years of work experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or SOX controls

* Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP system is required

* Must have a strong understanding of GAAP

* Experience in the preparation of financial statements, preparation of technical memos, evaluation of SOX controls, budget/forecast development and analysis, and project management

* Looking for someone with supervising/coaching experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* CPA and/or Master's degree is a plus

* Technical accounting, financial reporting, or SOX experience is a plus

* Coming from Big 4 firm (PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY) is preferred

* Both public and private company background is desired
