We are looking for a friendly, organized and efficient hospital scheduler to join our team. As a hospital scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients, doctors and other medical staff. You will also handle various administrative tasks such as verifying insurance, updating patient records, collecting co-pays and answering phone calls.
Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule appointments for patients according to their needs and availability of doctors and medical facilities
Confirm appointments with patients and remind them of the date, time and location of their visit
Reschedule and cancel appointments as requested by patients or medical staff
Schedule referral appointments for patients who need to see specialists or undergo tests
Verify patient's insurance coverage and eligibility
Update patient's demographic and medical information in the database
Collect co-pays and other fees from patients at the time of service
Answer phone calls and emails from patients, doctors and other medical staff
Provide information and assistance to patients and visitors
Order supplies and equipment for the office
Troubleshoot common issues concerning patients or computers
