Insight Global is seeking an Operations Technician II for one of our large Telecommunications customer. Resolves routine trouble tickets. Strong working knowledge and experience in Ethernet and IP Layer 1 and 2, communications (IPv4, IPv6, routing protocols). Technical knowledge and experience on contemporary technologies (e.g. MPLS, TDM, Ethernet, eLAN-eLine, TCP/IP, BGP, QoS, IP, etc.). Proactively monitor and respond to and resolve network alarms and customer opening tickets for issues with circuits. Perform circuit and equipment/network restoration, recognize potential jeopardy conditions and notify management and Program Office with risk potential and impact assessments. Management of circuits Ethernet & IP), perform testing as well. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience. Minimum 3 years related experience in specific area or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in Computer Networking or related technical field plus 3+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CCNA-level knowledge of Networking
- Solid knowledge of common networking protocols including but not limited to EIGRP, MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN Troubleshooting
- Solid knowledge of supporting VPN and NAT Policies
- Solid knowledge of BGP
- Must be able to work rotating weekends
CCNA Certification Preferred
