Job Description
The Lead Software Engineer must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance or have held a Top Secret Security within the last 2 years. In this role you will design, develop, and test complex software systems for SATCOM Technologies. You will be responsible for helping define and develop features and provide support for both new and existing products. As a Lead, you must have the confidence and ability to allocate tasks and projects as well as mentor team members. The ideal candidate will have a background of developing and deploying software products and will possess the ability to reverse engineer systems/software and develop new code to interface with existing systems/software. This is an exciting opportunity to work with SATCOM industry experts and be a part of building and supporting innovative products at all levels. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on all levels of device drivers, on embedded platforms, and front-end web technologies. You will participate in all phases of product development for the communications systems and help create tools and prototypes to assist in developing core products efficiently.
Required Skills & Experience
-Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience within Software Engineering.
-Must possess the ability to program in a high-level language, preferably Python or C++.
-Knowledge of network communication systems and protocols
-Must have either an active Top Secret Clearance or have held a TS in the last 2 years. (Must be a US Citizen)
-Must be in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area or willing to relocate and the ability to work onsite. (relocation available)
-Bachelor of Science degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field is required.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Technical knowledge of software systems: networking, inter-process communication, multi-thread and multi-process development, asynchronous I/O, exception handling, and error detection and reporting.
-Experience with network protocols, reading bit and bytes off the wire, packet inspection, QoS classification and policing/shaping, writing Layer2 and Layer 3 socket and raw sockets programs.
-SATCOM Experience
-Knowledge of low-level programming such as device drivers written in C.
-Firmware experience
-Experience working with Real Time Operating Systems
-Experience with one or more of the following areas:
* Packet Processing including classification, inspection, policing/shaping, Quality of Services, load balancing
* Device Drivers o TCP/IP Networking
