Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Construction Manager to support a large power generation company's utility-scale solar projects in North Carolina. This will be a 16-month, site-based contract supporting the construction execution of the Maple Leaf and Bear Branch Solar Projects in North Carolina. The Construction Manager will serve as the owner’s onsite representative, monitoring construction activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and acting as the primary liaison between the owner, EPC contractors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

This individual will function as the owner's eyes and ears in the field, supporting civil, mechanical, electrical, and solar installation activities while helping maintain compliance with erosion-control requirements and approved construction plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background, excellent field judgment, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders while driving project progress and resolving field issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of construction management, field supervision, superintendent, or general foreman experience
• Experience supporting utility, renewable energy, industrial, infrastructure, or power generation construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction site safety, quality, and compliance practices
• Experience overseeing EPC contractors and monitoring construction progress
• Ability to review drawings, specifications, and construction plans to identify deviations and recommend corrective actions
• Experience supporting civil construction activities, including earthworks, grading, stormwater management, and erosion control
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience creating field observations, daily reports, and construction progress updates
• Ability to work independently onsite and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment
• Comfortable using technology, software tools, and field data collection platforms

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Utility-scale solar construction experience
• Electrical construction background
• Experience overseeing piling installation, solar racking systems, cable installation, and equipment installation
• Previous experience supporting erosion-control compliance programs
• Experience implementing digital tracking or material management systems
• Journeyman Electrician, General Foreman, Superintendent, or Construction Manager background
• Experience working on utility, renewable energy, or large industrial construction projects
