Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Equipment Warehouse Tool Technician to support one of Canada's leading construction organizations in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair coordination, inventory management, and distribution of hand tools and light construction equipment used across active construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring tools and equipment are safe, operational, organized, and readily available to support field operations.
The Equipment Warehouse Tool Technician will perform preventative maintenance, conduct inspections, complete minor repairs, manage tool requests, and coordinate third-party servicing and recertification of specialized equipment. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude, warehouse experience, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced construction environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience working in a tool shop, warehouse, equipment yard, construction environment, or similar hands-on role
• Experience inspecting, maintaining, and performing minor repairs on construction tools and light equipment
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
Comfortable performing physical labour, including lifting up to 80 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, and working in indoor and outdoor environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working within a tool rental, equipment rental, or construction equipment environment
• Comfortable operating and working with a variety of construction tools and equipment including:
○ Cordless and corded drills, impact drivers
○ Concrete and demolition hammers
○ Grinders, saws, and pneumatic nailers
○ Portable generators, air compressors, and pressure washers
○ Plate compactors, torque wrenches, and rigging equipment
• Knowledge of tool recertification requirements and coordination of third-party equipment repairs
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse tracking software
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify tool wear, damage, and repair requirements such as replacing handles, power cords, blades, filters, and other consumable components
