Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer for a 3–6 month contract to backfill a team member on leave and mitigate delivery risk across multiple cyber and application projects. This resource will focus on maintaining and improving existing CI/CD pipelines, handling non‑prod and prod deployments, and supporting seven development teams that share standardized templates across 13–14 code repositories. Day‑to‑day, this person will monitor and troubleshoot Jenkins pipelines, perform deployment activities into OpenShift‑based Kubernetes environments, manage Dockerized workloads, assist with access provisioning and secrets management, and integrate or maintain security tooling such as SAST within the pipelines. They will support deployment planning and status updates, help vendors and internal dev teams get changes into non‑prod and prod, and work on automation to streamline repeatable tasks. The role is hands‑on operational DevSecOps (not a developer doing DevSecOps on the side), with a focus on stability, security, and continuous improvement of the delivery pipelines while key team members are away. The target start date is April 6 and the expectation is to be on site 2 days per week in Calgary or Toronto.

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline maintenance (and ideally creation), including troubleshooting failures and updating standardized templates
• Jenkins expertise used as the primary CI/CD orchestrator
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including managing and troubleshooting containerized workloads
Hands‑on experience with OpenShift for API and application deployments (required)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Production and non‑production deployment experience, working closely with internal development teams and external vendors
• Experience with SAST/security tooling (e.g., Uptycs, SonarQube or similar) and integrating vulnerability scanning into pipelines
• Shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Python or similar) to automate deployment steps and vulnerability checks within the pipeline
• Experience managing API deployment/configuration, including config files, credentials, and environment‑specific settings
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of requests and tasks across multiple concurrent projects

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
