Sr Business Systems Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support a large transportation organization with budgeting and forecasting initiatives. This is a 9‑month contract with a strong possibility of extension. The role is hybrid in Calgary, requiring 2–3 days onsite, with some flexibility for remote work. This position will act as a key bridge between Finance, Accounting, and Technology, leading hands‑on Prophix budgeting and forecasting efforts, including integration with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, identifying gaps, and providing system and process recommendations.

Day to Day

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead the use and enhancement of Prophix for budgeting and forecasting, integrated with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. This role will focus initially on implementing the forecasting model, followed by post‑go‑live forecast reporting and optimization. The analyst will build and maintain financial models, manage data flow between systems, and work closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure forecasts are accurate, easy to use, and actionable. Strong financial acumen and hands‑on Prophix implementation experience are essential, along with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights for the business.

- 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, techno‑functional, or finance systems roles.
- Hands‑on Prophix experience being directly involved in a Prophix implementation, supporting budgeting and forecasting models.
- Hands‑on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, particularly finance modules.
- Strong understanding of core accounting concepts. (GL, AP/AR, close, fixed assets)
- Experience with system integrations, data mapping, reconciliation, and data quality controls.
- Proven experience leading requirements, testing (SIT/UAT), and go‑live support.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical teams.

- Power Platform experience. (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
- Experience supporting Dynamics 365 Sales. (CRM)
