Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Intermediate Software Developer to join a large construction company in a remote 12-month contract with possibility of extension based in Edmonton Alberta but working out of Latin America. This role is focused on designing, building, maintaining, and evolving a portfolio of 50+ custom software tools that support Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows across the organization.
The Intermediate Software Developer will work hands-on with existing codebases to enhance, refactor, modernize, or retire tools based on usage, stability, and business value. This individual will collaborate closely with internal developers, VDC and BIM specialists, ICT partners, and external vendors to deliver high quality, maintainable solutions that remain aligned with the latest Autodesk platforms and APIs, providing real-world impact across multiple districts.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong recent experience developing software for Autodesk products, including Revit and Navisworks
• Hands-on development experience with .NET and C#, including deep experience using the Revit API and Navisworks API
• Solid understanding of software architecture, versioning, and long-term maintainability
• Experience working with modern development and deployment tools, such as Azure DevOps and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

•Experience working with Power BI or other data-driven tooling
•Familiarity with Autodesk Forge / APS and external API integrations
•Background developing or supporting custom software within construction, engineering, or AEC environments
