Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an OT Network Specialist to join a large energy and power generation client on a remote or Edmonton based, flexible hybrid, 12 month contract. This individual will provide operational technology (OT) network support across power generation facilities and industrial sites throughout Canada and the United States. The OT Network Specialist will be responsible for designing, supporting, monitoring, and maintaining industrial networks and security applications across the fleet, including greenfield developments, brownfield acquisitions, and existing system modifications.

Required Skills & Experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•5+ years of experience in Operational Technology (OT) networking, including network administration, configuration, and troubleshooting within industrial or operational environments

•5+ years of experience designing, supporting, and maintaining industrial control systems or computer systems, including HMIs, servers, and communication networks

•Strong hands on experience supporting power generation or industrial facilities with direct operational impact

•Extensive experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto networking and security technologies

•Advanced knowledge of Operational Technology, SCADA, and ICS cybersecurity best practices

•Understanding of network switches (physical and virtual), routers, firewalls; networking technologies, such as routing protocols; spanning tree, fail-over services

•Solid understanding of control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, RTU), including device connectivity and backend network support (no direct programming required)

•Familiarity with NIST, NERC CIP, and other ICS cybersecurity standards

•Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including MODBUS, ICCP, DNP3, and OPC

•Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering
