Job Description

We are currently seeking an Operator to join one of the largest agricultural companies in the world. The successful candidate will oversee safe work permitting for capital project work at a nitrogen production facility leading up to a 70 day turnaround. This role involves ensuring safe operations by managing and coordinating with anyone performing work in the plant. The Operator will be responsible for assessing risks, impacts, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures then providing permits for project based work throughout the plant. The role requires extensive fieldwork focused on scheduling compliance with safety policy procedures. Initially, the position will involve day shifts (4 days a week, 10-hour days) until April 2026, transitioning to full-time turnaround night shifts (6 days on, 1 day off, 12-hour days) from April- June in 2026. The site is located just outside of Calgary.

Required Skills & Experience

*10+ years experience in industrial operations working on industrial facilities (within energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, ammonium, or chemical plants)
*Experience with large project permitting, specifically startup and commissioning of new construction
*Ability to handle both maintenance and capital project permits
*3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate is required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

*experience with hydrogen reforming
