Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Intermediate Quality Assurance Analyst to join a large insurance client on a hybrid, 6‑month contract with potential extensions. This role is heavily focused on manual and automation testing of legacy, in‑house systems, with several releases scheduled in the new year. The QA will be responsible for building detailed test cases and test plans, executing manual and automated testing, and working closely with BSAs, developers, product owners, and SMEs to ensure quality across complex integrations. The successful candidate will need experience testing in‑house or legacy environments. Day‑to‑day responsibilities will include coordinating defect resolution, conducting walk‑throughs of testing documentation, and supporting user acceptance testing efforts. The QA will provide input into test plans, manage test data, and drive defect triage processes while delivering timely status reports and highlighting risks to project management. Collaboration and mentorship are key, as the analyst will support team members and foster collective success.
This position is critical to the client’s server migration initiative, as they transition applications from Microsoft Server 2016 (end of life in January 2027) to new environments. The analyst will test integrations as applications move server to server, troubleshoot issues such as unexpected outages, and validate functionality before deployment. They will also contribute to ongoing work in the automotive policy administration system, testing bug fixes, enhancements, and ensuring stability during modernization. By combining strong manual testing expertise with stakeholder collaboration, the Quality Assurance Analyst will play a pivotal role in safeguarding quality throughout this transformation. The successful candidate will be expected to be in office 2 days per week downtown Calgary.
