Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Project Manager to join one of Alberta's largest utility providers on a 12 month contract with high potential to extend, sitting out of Edmonton, Alberta (with a requirement to work 3-days in office). This resource will work on several large distribution projects, which include overseeing current system upgrades, grid modernization and leading new customer connections. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Supporting hazard identification and safe work planning at all phases of the project
- Manage project budgets, develop and maintain up-to-date project estimates and forecasts, and complete internal change approvals promptly
- Maintain up-to-date project schedules and complete internal change approvals promptly
- Liaise with staff including engineering, project controls, and construction crews to ensure the smooth flow of deliverables
- Liaise with external stakeholders to coordinate project deliverables and communicate project developments
- Participate in field activities such as project field kick-offs, project walk-downs, and HSE inspections during construction

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 5+ years experience working as a Project Manager within Construction, Operations or Engineering fields
- Experience working with Unifier or MS Project
- Experience working with MS Suite, with proficiency in Excel
- Ability to understand engineering/construction documents and ensure all approvals are in place
- Ability to effectively communicate with external parties (customers, consultants or government agencies)
- Ability to organize and lead small to medium sized project teams through the delivery of
capital projects

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Knowledge of transmission and distribution asset construction means and methods
- PMP Certification
- Experience working with Oracle Unifier
