A global bank is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team remotely in Mexico. We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing operations of the Bank's enterprise network infrastructure. This individual will join a highly technical team responsible for maintaining a complex global networking environment across data center, campus, cloud, WAN, and security domains. The engineer will play a critical role in supporting network modernization initiatives, troubleshooting complex connectivity issues, enhancing network performance, and helping ensure secure and resilient operations for the bank. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in large-scale enterprise environments, solving challenging networking problems, and collaborating with infrastructure, security, and operations teams across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities
Network Architecture & Design
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale network solutions.
• Evaluate existing network infrastructure and identify opportunities for optimization, scalability, and performance improvements.
• Create and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Participate in infrastructure modernization and technology refresh initiatives.
Routing, Switching & WAN Technologies
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot advanced routing environments utilizing: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, DMVPN, VRFs, Route Redistribution, and Traffic Engineering
• Implement and maintain highly available network services across enterprise environments.
• Support complex WAN and SD-WAN deployments.
Cisco Infrastructure Administration
• Install, configure, and support Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.
• Manage advanced switching technologies including: Switch Stacking, MLAG, MEC, vPC, Peer Links, and Rapid PVST/PVST protocols.
• Perform firmware upgrades, maintenance activities, and environment optimization.
Network Security
• Partner closely with cybersecurity teams to maintain secure network operations.
• Configure and support: Cisco ISE, TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1X Authentication, MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB), Access Control Lists (ACLs), GRE Tunnels, IPsec, and MACsec.
Assist with firewall integrations, intrusion detection technologies, and network access control initiatives.
• Perform security assessments and implement remediation recommendations.
Wireless & Network Services
• Support Cisco wireless infrastructure including: Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Enterprise Access Points, 802.11 Protocol Suite
• Ensure reliable wireless connectivity across enterprise environments.
• Troubleshoot performance, roaming, and client connectivity issues.
Monitoring & Performance Management
• Utilize enterprise monitoring and analysis tools including:
SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center (DNA-C), NetFlow, Wireshark, NetScout, and SNMPv3
- Monitor network health, capacity, availability, and performance.
Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and recurring issues.

Compensation:
$15/hr to $20/hr USD
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years in Network Engineering in enterprise environments
- Experience designing, deploying and supporting networks using: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, DMVPN, VRFs, Route Redistribution, and Traffic Engineering
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, switch stacking technologies, spanning tree (R-PVST / PVST protocols), MLAG, MEC, vPC, peer links
- Experience with network management applications and related protocols such as SNMPv3, NetFlow, SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetScout, Cisco Prime and DNA-C.
- Experience with Cisco wireless networking technologies including wireless LAN controllers, access points and the 802.11 protocol suite.
- Understanding of, and experience with Information Security concepts for core network infrastructure and data transport including IPsec, MACSec, GRE Tunnels, Access Control Lists, 802.1x MAB (MAC Authentication Bypass) NAC, Cisco ISE, TACACS+ and RADIUS.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Holds valid, current Cisco certifications - CCNP, CCDA and CCDP
- Financial services, banking, or highly regulated industry experience
- Familiarity with automation and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
