Job Description
A global biopharmaceutical company is seeking a strong Agile Delivery Manager to join their team to lead delivery coordination for a global clinical data analytics team building governed analytics solutions.
This role combines Agile facilitation with direct accountability for delivery planning, prioritization, timelines, dependencies, risks, and release coordination. The successful candidate must be comfortable selecting and adapting delivery frameworks—including Scrum, sprint-based delivery, Kanban, and hybrid approaches—based on the type of work, team maturity, operational demand, and business priorities.
The role will support remote development teams located in India, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico, with stakeholders primarily based in the United States and Switzerland. Experience working in a GxP-validated system, regulated environment, or comparable controlled SDLC is required.
This position coordinates delivery and facilitates decisions but does not own clinical definitions, technical architecture, or semantic model design. This is an immediate need and is an ongoing contract opportunity and the individual can sit remotely anywhere in LATAM that aligns closely with EST working hours.
Additional Details:
Delivery Planning and Execution
· Own integrated delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, release dates, and critical-path activities across multiple analytics workstreams.
· Maintain clear visibility into committed work, work in progress, blockers, risks, and delivery confidence.
· Hold workstream owners accountable for actions, decisions, and delivery commitments.
· Identify timeline, capacity, scope, and dependency risks early and drive recovery or escalation plans.
· Ensure delivery commitments are realistic based on available capacity, technical complexity, validation requirements, and business priority.
· Drive work through completion rather than limiting the role to status reporting or ceremony facilitation.
Agile Delivery Leadership
· Select and apply the appropriate delivery framework based on the nature of the work.
o Use Scrum or sprint-based delivery for planned product development and time-bound releases.
o Use Kanban or flow-based delivery for production support, defects, operational work, and variable intake.
· Establish practical cadences for planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, demonstrations, retrospectives, release reviews, and operational triage.
· Monitor and improve delivery metrics such as throughput, cycle time, work in progress, sprint predictability, blocked work, and aging items.
· Adapt team practices based on delivery data, team maturity, and changing portfolio needs.
· Coach teams and stakeholders on effective Agile behaviors without unnecessary process or meeting overhead.
Intake, Prioritization, and Scope Control
· Coordinate intake and prioritization for new analytics requests, enhancements, defects, technical debt, and production-support work.
· Maintain a transparent and prioritized backlog in Azure DevOps.
· Ensure work meets the agreed definition of ready before development begins.
· Partner with business analysts and technical leads to confirm requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, estimates, and release expectations.
· Facilitate explicit tradeoff decisions when demand exceeds available capacity.
· Prevent informal changes to scope, priority, deadlines, or release commitments outside the agreed governance process.
· Ensure platform maintenance, validation activities, technical debt, and support demand are reflected in capacity planning.
Global Team Coordination
· Coordinate delivery across development teams in India, Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico and stakeholders in the United States and Switzerland.
· Establish clear handoffs, escalation paths, ownership, documentation standards, and decision records across regions and time zones.
· Promote effective asynchronous communication through disciplined backlog management, written updates, and documented decisions.
· Ensure remote team members receive timely requirements, feedback, decisions, and technical direction.
· Identify communication delays, handoff failures, and time-zone dependencies that may affect delivery.
· Schedule meetings in a manner that balances business access with sustainable working expectations for the global team.
Risk, Dependency, and Decision Management
· Maintain actionable risk, issue, dependency, action, assumption, and decision tracking.
· Assign owners and due dates and follow through to resolution.
· Escalate risks with a clear explanation of impact, options, recommendation, and required decision.
· Coordinate dependencies across data engineering, clinical interpretation, semantic modeling, Power BI development, testing, validation, release, and production support.
· Ensure material delivery and scope decisions are documented and traceable.
Validation-Aware SDLC and Release Coordination
· Incorporate validation, quality, documentation, testing, traceability, and approval requirements into delivery plans.
· Coordinate required test evidence, reviews, approvals, release records, and change-control activities.
· Support controlled Dev, Test, and Production promotion processes.
· Ensure documentation and validation evidence progress with development rather than being deferred until release.
· Coordinate release-readiness reviews, business acceptance, technical signoffs, deployment activities, release communications, and post-release monitoring.
· Confirm that production solutions have identified support owners, monitoring expectations, and escalation paths.
· Partner with Quality, Compliance, IT, Security, and CSV/CSA stakeholders in accordance with applicable procedures.
· Escalate situations in which schedule pressure conflicts with required quality or validation controls.
Stakeholder Communication
· Provide concise, decision-oriented delivery updates to clinical, operational, technical, and leadership stakeholders.
· Communicate accomplishments, upcoming milestones, delivery confidence, risks, dependencies, and capacity constraints.
· Ensure stakeholders understand what is committed, what is not committed, and what tradeoffs are required.
· Facilitate discussions involving competing priorities, changing requirements, delivery constraints, and release decisions.
