Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Director of Outside Plant (OSP) to join our telecommunications client for a full-time in Anchorage, AK. This role leads all OSP operations, maintenance, and network performance, ensuring a reliable, scalable, and high‑performing infrastructure. This role owns strategy execution, organizational effectiveness, and budget management while aligning OSP initiatives with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The Director provides accountable leadership, drives continuous improvement, and ensures strong operational, financial, and network outcomes across fiber, HFC, and long‑haul networks.


Responsibilities

Own overall OSP strategy, operations, performance, and results

Lead and develop multi‑disciplinary teams across construction, maintenance, and field operations

Set clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability across the organization

Drive organizational design, process optimization, and operational efficiency

Establish and manage KPIs, metrics, and reporting for network and project performance

Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, environmental, and permitting requirements

Lead long‑range network planning, expansion, modernization, and capacity upgrades

Translate strategy into executable project plans and measurable outcomes

Own OSP operating and capital budgets; manage forecasting, variance, and cost controls

Manage vendors and contractors, including RFPs, contracts, SLAs, and performance

Oversee large‑scale OSP construction and maintenance programs

Maintain accountability for HFC and long‑haul fiber network performance

Apply deep expertise in OSP design, construction, splicing, testing, and acceptance standards

Partner with municipalities, utilities, regulators, and joint‑use stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Network Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 12 years of experience in outside plant engineering, construction, and/or network infrastructure in a telecommunications, broadband, fiber, cable, or utility environment, to include:

5 years of experience overseeing large-scale OSP programs

5years of experience delivering complex, capital-intensive infrastructure projects from design through deployment.

5years of supervisor/manager experience leading cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Master’s degree in relevant field.

Subsea fiber experience (NEC or ASN)

Professional certifications, such as Professional Engineer (PE), PMP (Project Management Professional), Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT), or other equivalent industry credentials.
