Job Description
Insight Global is looking for Full Stack Developers to join a Federal Program focused on providing advance flood forecasting and warning capabilities across the United States. The applications you will help design, build, and deploy will be used by Public and Emergency Managers to protect life and property, and to support socio-economic decision-making for a sustainable and enhanced economy.
This team will provide integrated water prediction that forecasts the movement and presence of water throughout the US in terms of quantity and availability, from summit to sea, treetop to bedrock, with timelines, resolution, reliability, accuracy, and quantified uncertainty required to inform risk-based water resource management decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and codes software components, units, and modules that meet product specification and development schedules. Tests and debugs assigned components and units, Participated in large system and subsystem planning.
- Assist in "Research to Operations" efforts, deploying the latest science in water prediction into a reliable operational environment.
- Assist computational scientists in bridging the gap between applied research and software engineering; supporting mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, algorithm development, analysis, validation, and visualization of results.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2-10 years of Java and/or Python development experience (Flex)
o Preferably experience in both Java and Python
- Ability to develop both front-end and back-end programming solutions
- Knowledge of common Data stores (mostly RDBMS stores)
- Experience with algorithms, programming best practices, documentation, and the development of projects

Plusses
- Any CI/CD exposure with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Gradle, or Docker/Kubernetes
- Any cloud experience across AWS, GCP, or Azure
