Job Description
The Transmission Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the execution of transmission line and substation capital projects. The role provides leadership
throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout activities. The Project Manager is accountable for project scope, schedule, budget, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and overall project delivery success.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Leadership
• Lead transmission line and substation capital projects from initiation through
closeout.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, outage planning, operations,
land, environmental, finance, and stakeholder activities.
• Direct cross-functional project teams and vendors.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget.
Schedule & Cost Management
• Work with Project Controls team to develop and manage project schedules.
• Monitor project progress and key milestones.
• Analyze project performance and forecast potential schedule or budget risks.
• Work with Project Controls team to track costs, support variance analysis, and
provide financial reporting.
Risk Management
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Escalate critical issues requiring management decisions.
• Lead project change management processes.
• Conduct post-project reviews and share lessons learned.
Stakeholder Management
• Communicate project status to leadership and stakeholders.
• Build relationships with engineering, construction, operations, customers,
contractors, and regulatory groups.
• Facilitate resolution of project conflicts and competing priorities.

Required Skills & Experience
-5+ years of experience in a project management role
-Knowledge of engineering, construction, outage coordination, permitting, land
acquisition, and regulatory processes.
-Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tool Suite including calendar management, Power Point presentations, and Excel.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction
Management, Project Management, or related field.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience managing transmission line and substation projects is a plus.
• Understanding of transmission systems and utility operations is a plus.
• Familiarity with utility project gated processes and capital project governance is a
plus.
• Familiarity with Oracle financial applications, and Primavera schedules is a plus.
