Job Description
Insight Global is currently seeking a Structural Professional Engineer (PE) to join a client in the industrial engineering services industry as the Department Manager for Structural and Mechanical. This role is split across structural design (40%), project design supervision/department leadership (30%), project management (20%), and business development (10%). On a daily basis, the engineer will lead and perform structural design work including calculations, code compliance, and stamping drawings across FL, AL, and GA while guiding and reviewing work completed by designers and engineers. They will oversee project execution by developing work plans, coordinating across disciplines, conducting field inspections, verifying plant conditions, and ensuring designs align with client requirements and cost efficiency goals. Additionally, the role involves managing project scope, procurement, bid processes, construction coordination, and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting project startup and closeout activities. The engineer will also manage team workload, contribute to performance reviews and compensation planning, and provide leadership across a multi-office team of designers and engineers. Finally, the individual will support business development efforts through client engagement, site walkdowns, proposal development, and internal estimating.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering + 10 years of experience as a Structural PE
• Active PE license (Structural Required)
• Experience using Design Software's: AutoCAD, Plant 3D
• Industrial structural design experience
• Experience with foundations, structural steel, platforms, and equipment support structures
• Ability to work across multi-discipline teams
• Experience leading engineering teams and interest in running a department
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Prefabrication interface project experience
• Rotating equipment foundation design
• Experience supporting civil/piping/mechanical coordination
