Job Description
The Database Administrator supports design, development, and maintenance of enterprise databases in mainframe (z/OS) environments. Responsible for ensuring data integrity, performance, and proper usage through monitoring, auditing, and optimization of Db2 databases. Partners with leadership to define database strategy, advises users on data access, and resolves data issues or conflicts.
Provides technical leadership, monitors database resources, and recommends structural changes to improve performance and scalability. Supports DBMS tools, develops testing plans for upgrades, and evaluates new technologies. Works independently with escalation on complex issues; includes on-call and off-hours support.

Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience with Db2 on z/OS (required)
5+ years RDBMS experience (or 7+ with DBA certification)
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience with database design, physical DB administration, and performance tuning
Experience troubleshooting DBMS issues to ensure availability and reliability
Experience with data security, access controls, and enforcing standards
Ability to communicate technical concepts to varied stakeholders
Experience working with IT teams, users, and vendors
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Db2 (DML, DDL, DCL)
Background in z/OS COBOL or data architecture
TSO knowledge
