Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee all safety operations for a major power plant construction project. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with OSHA standards, site‑specific safety requirements, and all contractor and plant protocols. You will work closely with construction leadership, subcontractors, and plant personnel to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.
This position requires flexibility to work 10–12 hours per day, 6 days per week, on either day or night shift.
Night shift begins mid‑June
Day shift begins late June
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily safety oversight for all construction activities on site
Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and jobsite inspections
Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and JHAs
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and plant‑specific safety policies
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; document findings and corrective actions
Support contractor onboarding, safety orientations, and training
Maintain accurate safety documentation, permits, and compliance records
Monitor high‑risk activities such as confined space entry, hot work, crane operations, and LOTO
Provide coaching, leadership, and a strong safety presence in the field
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and plant leadership to resolve safety concerns

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of safety experience in construction, industrial, utility, or power generation environments
Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards (1926/1910)
Power plant experience required (outages, turnarounds, or major industrial projects)
Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts, 6 days per week
Ability to work day or night shift depending on project needs
Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
