Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Project Manager to support a major power and utilities client on a 12 month contract based in Decatur, Alabama. This role offers flexible onsite expectations: while the position is primarily remote, candidates should reside within roughly an hour of the plant and be available to visit as needed.
The Project Manager will have end to end ownership of capital projects, supporting initiatives from early feasibility and scoping through full execution and closeout. This position blends technical coordination, financial accountability, and hands on engagement with plant personnel and vendors. The successful candidate will manage instrumentation & control–focused projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, strong vendor performance, and effective communication with leadership.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5–7+ years of Project Management experience leading technical or capital projects
• Previous plant experience (power generation preferred, chemical or manufacturing plants acceptable)
• Experience owning projects from initial scoping through execution
• Ability to develop scopes, budgets, and feasibility packages
• Strong financial tracking skills, including forecasting, variance explanation, and cost control
• High level understanding of instrumentation and control systems
• Comfortable working in both office and plant environments; hands on, not a desk only PM
• Engineering degree in any discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in the power & utilities industry (Ex. Alabama Power)
• PMP certification
• PE license (Professional Engineer)
• Siemens T3000 DCS
