Job Description

We are a leading manufacturer specializing in the building and shipping of locomotives. With a workforce of 525 employees, projected to grow to 700, we are committed to efficiency, quality, and safety in our operations. Last year, we built and shipped 60 locomotives, and we are on track to produce 147 this year. The Operations Director is the most critical role in our facility, responsible for overseeing all aspects of production and ensuring that efficiency goals and metrics are met. This role requires a strong manufacturing background, ideally with experience in locomotive production, manual assembly or similar industry. This person would ideally be looking to grow within the next 5 years and comfortable customer facing for class 1 rail lines and international visitors.

Required Skills & Experience

-Extensive experience in manufacturing, preferably in manual assembly.
-Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, 5S or Six Sigma Black Belt.
-Proven ability to manage and develop a large team, with a focus on efficiency and quality and work cross functionally with engineering, quality, and safety.
- Background of leading a facility of assembly, welding, painting, or testing.
