This role will support the Medicaid Data Warehouse our client is supporting for a state government client. We are looking for a strong Medicaid Data Analyst, for someone who is data curious and willing to learn new processes and procedures, and who is comfortable being customer/stakeholder facing on site in Alabama 5 days/week. This is a long-term, ongoing contract where you're going to be analyzing and reporting on federal reports, dollar transactions, and supporting quality analytics for federal spend. We are looking for someone who has specific experience in Medicaid or Healthcare claims data, and who ideally has experience with financial reporting analysis and development. You are not only creating dashboards, but you're also maintaining and accessing different data sources for reporting, so you must be comfortable creating SQL queries from scratch, putting alerts on reports, and ideally you'd have experience in Oracle Snowflake and ADO or Jira to hit the ground running in this current environment. It is critical this person has strong data analytics and reporting skills in PowerBI, extremely strong SQL skills, and strong experience in healthcare claims data to be successful in this role, as you will be the acting SME for this client.
1. Support the Agency with their Analytic Staff
2. Provide on-site data analytic support to client staff, face to face with thoughtful explanations in a functional manner
3. Create Power BI reports at request of the Agency
4. Provide data analysis at the request of the Agency
5. Support the Analytics Manager in the development of Power BI reports and dashboards

3+ years of hands-on Power BI experience creating reports and visualizations with raw data
Experience cleaning multi-million sized data sets, working directly from the database
3+ years SQL, writing advanced complex queries
3+ years Medicaid, MMIS, CMS, or healthcare claims financial reporting experience.
Comfortable working on site 5 days/week directly with clients to gather requirements and for data analysis and reporting
