A client in Huntsville, AL is seeking a remote Mechanical Design Engineer to work part time (20-30 hours) to provide support to their team.
Day to Day:
Review, package, deliver developmental drawings per SOW.
Develop system level engineering drawing tree (DT) and review component level DTs developed by KORD's subcontractors. (PDR/CDR)
Review, package, deliver technical data package for EAW's product baseline (PBL) deliverable per SOW.
TDPs to include product drawings and CAD models, Special Inspection Equipment (SIE), specifications, software documentation, Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) documents, special tooling engineering design data and related lists, and engineering design data and associated lists. (PDR/CDR/PCA, varies depending on product)
Support manufacturing engineer in developing manufacturing planning documentation. (PLV)
Support component and system level Production Line Validation (PLV) activities.
Support component and system level Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) to validate the hardware is built to the approved product baseline documentation. Complete PCA report per SOW. (PCA)
Work with CM lead to prepare and transfer PBL configuration control after completion of the system level PCA. (PCA)

Experienced professional with 5+ years of relevant experience
B.S. degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Proven experience using SolidWorks
Proven experience in drawing and model checking, design, engineering change process, packaging documentation for submittals and approval
Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000 and engineering drawing practices ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, ASME Y14.35M, ASME Y14.41, and ASME Y14.5
Very detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills
