Insight Global is seeking multiple levels of REMOTE Mechanical, Structural and Electrical Engineers to support a client. This person will be responsible for design calculations and drawing development as assigned by the Chief Department Engineer or a Department Engineer III
Mechanical Day to Day:
Responsible for checking calculations done by Engineers I. Design and develop mechanical systems: Your main responsibility would be to design, develop and analyze mechanical systems for ships. This includes HVAC systems, fire control systems, propulsion systems, piping systems, and any other functional design. Additionally, you will conduct research on new materials and technologies that can be incorporated into the design of mechanical systems, create 2D and 3D models and drawings of mechanical systems using CAD software, ensure that all mechanical systems comply with relevant regulations and safety standards, and troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing or installation process and work with the team to find solutions.

* Working knowledge of Maritime Regulatory Authorities (i.e. ABS, DNV, GL, NAVSEA, MIL, USCG, IMO, etc.)
* Working knowledge of ship and propulsion systems
* Experience in the construction of high speed aluminum vessels
* Knowledge of modular construction methods
* Knowledge in design and construction of US Navy vessels
* Knowledge of shock design
* Knowledge of FEA methods
* Knowledge of composite shafting
