Insight Global is looking to hire a Network Engineer for one of our large telecom clients that controls ~1300 LTE sites throughout AL, GA, and MS. Each LTE site requires a transport link for network connectivity back the core data centers. This transport is primarily accomplished by using a point-to-point microwave link, leased 3rd party carrier ethernet services, or company owned fiber. For resiliency/backup purposes or to support a temporary emergency portable site deployment. Our client also utilizes satellite-based communications and other 3rd party wireless carrier 4G/5G services for site transport. Responsibilities include: - Identifying opportunities for improvement in current transport network - Identifying vendor transport solutions to meet resiliency/backup needs - Testing identified transport solutions - Developing the necessary router configurations for transport solution - Working with Southern Company resources to integrate solutions into the larger network.
- LAN and WAN Network solutions and routing protocols (specifically MPLS, SD- WAN, OSPF, BGP)
- Router configuration - VPN configuration/management
- Managing CoS/QoS - General Firewall understanding/knowledge
- Must be self-motivated and capable of directing own work for periods of time
- Any generic understanding or experience with firewalls.
- Telecom environment, LTE specifically
- CCNA
