- Monitor and respond to Mission Critical Infrastructure
including but not limited to UPS, Generator, and critical
cooling systems.
- Take appropriate action in response to emergency
situations
- Operate and maintain the Fire Management Systems
(FMS) for the Corporate Headquarters and satellite
locations
- Operate and maintain the Building Automation System
(BAS)
- Monitor, respond and take appropriate corrective action to
resolve all tenant requests as they relate to comfort/climate
control and special services on a 24-hour basis
- Perform, coordinate and document Fire Management
Device and System functional testing and preventive
maintenance scheduling as required by The National Fire
Protection Association. Assist with annual emergency
evacuation training exercise
- Monitor and control elevators to maintain maximum
operating conditions with minimum downtime
- Maintenance and installation of Closed-Circuit Television
equipment and CCURE Security Access equipment
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring,
operation, and problem resolution related to facilities
infrastructure including but not limited to UPS/Generator/
Critical Cooling, Building Automation, and Fire Life Safety
Systems. This position makes critical decisions that affect
Mission Critical Infrastructure, and building occupants,
including evacuations/shelter in place, elevator entrapments,
etc. Responsibilities also include the monitoring and
coordinated response at statewide mission critical sites.
The control room is staffed 24x7x365 for infrastructure
monitoring, diagnosis and resolution and fire life safety
responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred and 2-year
Technical Associates Degree preferred
- Required to hold at least one of the following 3 current
certifications:- Active State of Alabama HVAC Contractors
License
- Active State of Alabama Electrical Contractors License
- Active State of Alabama Master Plumber License
- Required and contingent for the position within first 9
months of employment: - Passing score for NICET Level I
test
- NERC CIP Certification
- Basic knowledge of the functionality of Infrastructure
Monitoring/Management Tools: Foreseer, Netcool along
with related automation systems and resources for problem
resolution
- Ability to think outside of the box and offer suggestions for
process improvement and automation opportunities
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical and
control schematics along with strong analytical and trouble
shooting skills
- Ability to build relationships and work in a team
atmosphere
- Proven ability to operate and manage multiple technologies
and processes.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days on, 7 days off,
year around- The successful candidate may be subject to
working night shifts
