Our biggest investment, and most valuable resource, is our staff and workforce.\"PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities will be assigned as project needs evolve and shall include but not be limited to the following items: 1.Facilitates writing scope of work descriptions, solicits bid pricing, and evaluates bid proposals. 2.Coordinates multiple aspects of design and construction work to ensure timely delivery of quality work within agreed upon cost. 3.Monitors progress of design and construction work and reports any field conflicts to Manager, solicits input from and communicates resolutions to all parties. 4.Ensures project requirements outlined in engineering drawings and specifications are followed. 5.Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; documents field condition with photos and sketches; makes recommendations to Manager for necessary modifications. 6.Collaborates with Manager, operations, engineers, and contractors to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and design or construction issues. 7.Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people, including terminal operations, engineers, suppliers, and contractors. 8.Ensures safety of self and mindful that safety standards and guidelines are followed by all persons working on terminal construction projects. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES: *None. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Employee must develop rapport with all levels of employees and external persons. 2.Employee must use well-developed oral and written communication/interpersonal skills for work with internal and external persons. 3.Employee must be Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Basic AutoCAD software experience a plus. 4.Employee must pay meticulous attention to detail to support making well-informed decisions. 5.Employee must have the ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems. 6.Employee must be able to communicate effectively in English. 7.Employee must have ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them. Job Description:Department of Public Works - Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA): This division is a Joint Powers Authority comprised of Placer County and the cities of Lincoln,... Rocklin, and Roseville, and serves the waste and recycling needs for most Placer County residents and businesses - excluding the Tahoe and Truckee area. The WPWMA campus consists of a mixed-waste Materials Recovery Facility, a Construction & Demolition recycling facility, composting facilities, a household hazardous waste facility, recycling buyback and public drop off facilities in addition to the only active landfill in Placer County.Duties and Responsibilities: ? Recommend and assist in the implementation of assigned unit goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for assigned area of responsibility; implement policies and procedures.? Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities.? Participate in budget preparation and administration; prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations; submit justifications for staff and equipment; monitor and control expenditure.? Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; conduct performance evaluations; recommend discipline; implement discipline procedures as directed.? Answer questions and provide information to the public; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints. ? Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other County employees and the public using principles of good customer service.? Perform related duties as assigned.Ability to:?
