In this role you will manually test streaming applications across multiple OTT and connected-TV platforms to ensure releases are production-ready. Platforms include Roku, Comcast/Xfinity, Samsung Smart TVs, LG Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Vizio. Your focus includes core playback behaviors such as start, buffering, pause/resume, seek, and error handling, under real-world conditions (slow networks, app interruptions, episode switching), plus validating ads, captions/subtitles, and audio tracks across devices. You?ll also verify platform-specific behavior (e.g., Roku vs. Samsung or Fire TV), isolate device-level issues, and confirm fixes hold consistently across environments before each release. You will execute large test suites (300-400+ test cases per release) on the specific devices you own, confirm pass/fail results, and validate behavior before each production push.You will install and test custom application builds directly on OTT devices and perform multiple rounds of testing per release to validate fixes and catch regressions. When issues are found, you will reproduce them, gather logs, and document defects clearly so engineering teams can act quickly.You will create detailed Jira tickets with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, device and platform details (such as Roku device IDs), and supporting evidence including screenshots, videos, Charles Proxy logs, and ADB logs when applicable. You will regularly use Charles Proxy to inspect network traffic and collect ADB logs to support troubleshooting.You will communicate testing status, risks, and release blockers to QA leadership and work closely with engineers and product managers to clarify issues and verify fixes.
