They follow the Chicago Manual of Style so this person should be well versed in that format. Lastly, this person should feel comfortable working in the cultural arts space and working with cultural materials-- topics expand beyond art and cover Music, Fashion, and keep a finger on the pulse of culture at the Museum. It would be a plus for this person to be bilingual in Spanish, but not necessary for success in the role. More curators, conservators, educators, and other departments to create compelling original video content for a range of audiences. This person will be responsible for editing video content for multiple distribution formats (primarily for new sites on moma.org, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, social media, out of home marketing, and display in exhibitions.) including unscripted documentaries, artist profiles, and tutorials, as well as Marketing and Brand videos. They will evaluate raw footage and review shot lists and storyboards, create transcripts from footage (using tools), and edit project from start to finish, from paper edits to rough cuts, to fine cuts, to preparing for color correction and audio mix, to conforming for final distribution. There may be some research and sourcing of additional footage and stills necessary for the story as well. Any experience with color correcting, sound mixing, or motion design work is very highly desired. Ultimately, this person will be a post-production subject matter expert for the team. We're looking for someone with a bachelor's or master's degree in film or any other creative discipline, 5+ years experience in editing video content, experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Premier, knowledge of YouTube/Shorts and other social media storytelling formats, and an interest in art to join a W2 contract to hire engagement.
