Day-to-Day:
The HR Specialist is responsible for promoting and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and organizational policies. This role supports diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, investigates complaints of discrimination or harassment, and advises management on best practices to maintain a fair and inclusive workplace.
Develop, implement, and monitor the organization’s EEO policies and affirmative action programs.
Ensure compliance with Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and other applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare and submit EEO compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
Conduct intake, investigation, and resolution of EEO complaints, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and draft detailed investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
Design and deliver EEO-related training sessions for employees and managers.
Provide guidance on reasonable accommodations and anti-discrimination practices.
Analyze workforce data to identify trends and potential areas of concern.
Maintain accurate case management records and prepare periodic reports for leadership.
Advise HR and leadership on EEO matters, diversity strategies, and risk mitigation.
Stay current on changes in EEO laws and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
3+ years of EEO compliance, HR, or employee relations experience
2+ years of experience supporting EEO investigations and/or complaints
Excellent written and verbal communication
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
Bachelor's degree human resources or a related field
Knowledge of an HRIS system
Experience with Adobe Acrobat for creating forms, documentation, etc.
