Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join a well-established law firm in Mt. Pleasant, SC. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting the founding partner and legal team. The role involves handling critical legal correspondence, drafting documents, and managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. There is also an opportunity for promotion to Paralegal.
Key Responsibilities:
-Draft and prepare various legal documents, letters, and correspondence to attorneys.
-Support cases involving workers’ compensation, insurance, and employer representation.
-Manage filings, pleadings, and submissions with accuracy and timeliness.
-Maintain case files and ensure compliance with deadlines.
-Serve as the last line of defense for detail-oriented review before submissions.
-Collaborate with attorneys and other legal staff; assist with administrative tasks.
This is a 3-month contract to hire opportunity paying between $18 and $26/hr and requires ability to work on site in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience
-2–5+ years in an office setting (legal experience preferred but not required).
-Bachelor’s Degree required.
-Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and PC systems.
-Ability to type at least 55 WPM (typing assessment will be administered)
-Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
-Comfortable working in a structured office environment.
-Must be able to work on-site 5 days per week; remote access via Mac available for occasional needs.
-Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
