Responsible for operating and managing Palo Alto firewalls to defend against advanced cyber threats. Key duties include configuration, implementation, migration, rule creation, troubleshooting (including CLI), capacity planning, OS upgrades, and compliance audits. Supports network and security teams with debugging tools and maintains Visio diagrams for network flow. Current project is a new data center build out that requires firewall configuration. After that project there will be a lot of firewall clean up and audits.
Additional responsibilities include support across a Cisco-based environment with technologies such as WAN/LAN, VoIP, Unified Communications, VMware, NetApp, AD, Citrix, and NetScalers. Requires experience with security standards (e.g., HIPAA), site-to-site and remote VPNs, and provides 24/7 support with on-call rotation.

- Extensive background working as Palo Alto Firewall Engineer managing, configuring, implementing, migrating, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls creating rule and configuration changes with templates, capcity planning, OS upgrades, and CLI troubleshooting
- Experience conducting audits on managed firewalls
- Working knowledge of a Cisco Network environment
- CNSA - Palo Alto Cert Netwrk Sec Admn or PCNSE - Palo Alto Cert
Microsoft A+ Cert or Network + Certification
(Preferred)
- CCNP - Cisco Cert Net Professional
